Hong Kong VR Rehabilitation Game Design competition 2020
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) has been very active in developing rehabilitation services to promote the development of the physical, mental and social capabilities of people with disabilities (PWDs). We also hope to promote the realization of a physical and social environment conducive to meeting the goals of their full participation in the social life. Hence, TWGHs and Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre Limited (LSCM) co-organize the VR Rehabilitation Game Design Competition. It aims to enhance the public and students’ understanding about the needs of PWDs and elders. Candidates should make use of their knowledge and creativity, to design and create a VR game for rehabilitation training, and promotion of social inclusion.

Qualification for Competition
Junior and Senior Secondary Division:Participants of the team are studying in the same secondary school with teacher as representative to register for the competition.
Tertiary Division:Participants of the team are studying in the same college or university in Hong Kong
Open Division:Hong Kong citizens aged 18 or above
Rules and regulations of Competition (Junior and Senior Secondary Division):
- A PowerPoint file (with no more than 20 slides) which highlights the ideas of the work, details of operation and division of labour etc.
- A maximum of 3-minute video to present the content of PowerPoint.
Rules and regulation of Competition (Tertiary and Open Division):
- Each team should consist of 2-4 candidates.
- Participating team has to design new VR game using Unity with one of the following topics: 1) Rehabilitation Training, 2) Social inclusion
- Each team can only submit one VR game for the competition.
- All entries must be submitted by hyperlink and complemented with
- a 3-minute video which illustrates the ideas of the works, its core message and details of operation,
- a VR game which is executable and applicable by HTC SteamVR.
- All entries must be original and not be published in any other occasions before. By submitting an entry, the participant warrants that the entry neither contains any third party copyrighted materials nor infringes any intellectual property rights of any third parties. Participants should also be aware that the content does not include obscene, pornography, violent, religious, political or other indecent contents. Any violation will be disqualified without prior notice.
- Submission of any entry implies that the participant has read and accepted the Rules & Regulations of the competition.
- Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-returnable and non-refundable in any situation.
- The Organizers own the copyright of the awarded entries.
- The Organizers reserve the right to announce and reveal the winners’ names and photos for publicity.
- Submission of any entry indicates that the participants authorize the Organizers to reveal and release the entries for publicity, exhibition or publishing, without getting prior consent from participants or paying any copyright fee.
- The Organizers reserve the right to amend and/or cancel the activities as well as the Rules & Regulations without prior notice.
- In case of any dispute, the Organizers reserve the right for final decision.

Junior and Senior Secondary Division
1) PowerPoint
- Highlights the ideas of the work, details of operation and division of labour etc
- No more than 20 slides, less than 200Mb
- PPT or PPTX
2) Video
- Present the content of PowerPoint
- A maximum of 3-minute video, less than 1Gb
- AVI, MPEG, MPG, MOV or WMV
Tertiary and Open division:
1) VR Game
- Application: SteamVR
- Hardware: HTC Vive, Vive Tracker
- 3D Model: Any
- Compress files to a .zip and submit with hyperlink to vrteam@tungwah.org.hk.
- Less than 2GB.
2) Video
- Illustrates the ideas of the work, its core message and details of operation
- A maximum of 3-minute video, less than 1GB
- AVI, MPEG, MPG, MOV or WMV
